Luke 3 (vv. 21-22)

As the people are being baptized, Jesus also enters the waters. While he is praying, heaven opens, the Holy Spirit descends in bodily form like a dove, and a voice from heaven declares him to be the beloved Son. This is the great revelatory moment of the chapter: humility, prayer, divine affirmation, and the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry.
