Luke 21 (vv. 1-4)

Jesus watches people giving offerings at the temple treasury. Wealthy worshipers place large gifts into the collection chests, but a poor widow quietly steps forward and drops in two tiny copper coins, all she has. Jesus uses the moment to reveal that her sacrifice is greater than the public abundance of the rich, because she gives out of poverty and complete trust.

예수께서 성전 헌금함에 사람들이 예물을 넣는 모습을 바라보신다. 부유한 예배자들은 많은 헌금을 넣지만, 한 가난한 과부가 조용히 앞으로 나와 자신이 가진 전부인 두 개의 작은 구리 동전을 넣는다. 예수께서는 이 장면을 통해 그녀의 희생이 부자들의 드러나는 풍요보다 더 크다고 밝히신다. 그녀는 넉넉함이 아니라 가난과 온전한 신뢰 가운데 드렸기 때문이다.
