Luke 20 (vv. 41-47)

With the people listening, Jesus first raises the question of how the Messiah can be both David’s son and David’s Lord, then turns to warn his disciples about the teachers of the law. He exposes their love of public honor, flowing robes, prominent seats, and showy prayers, while condemning the way they exploit the vulnerable, especially widows. The scene closes the chapter with moral clarity: outward religion without justice stands under severe judgment.

모든 백성이 듣는 가운데 예수께서는 먼저 메시아가 어떻게 다윗의 자손이면서도 다윗의 주가 될 수 있는지 물으신 뒤, 제자들에게 율법교사들을 조심하라고 경고하신다. 그분은 그들이 긴 옷을 입고 존경받기를 좋아하며 높은 자리를 탐하고 과시적인 기도를 드리는 모습을 드러내신다. 동시에 그들이 과부들의 집을 삼키는 악행을 꾸짖으시며, 정의 없는 겉모습의 신앙은 무거운 심판 아래 있음을 밝히신다.
