Description
The Sadducees, who deny the resurrection, present Jesus with their carefully constructed case about a woman married successively to seven brothers. Jesus answers that the age to come is different from earthly life: those raised from the dead are like the angels and cannot die anymore. He then invokes Moses at the burning bush, declaring that God is not the God of the dead but of the living. The challengers are silenced, while some teachers of the law openly admire his answer.
