Luke 14 (vv. 1-6)

Jesus is dining in the house of a prominent Pharisee on the Sabbath while the religious leaders watch him closely. In front of him stands a man suffering from severe swelling, and the room is tense with silence as Jesus challenges the experts in the law about whether it is lawful to heal on the Sabbath. He then takes hold of the man, heals him, and leaves his critics unable to answer.
