Description
The second ram, the ram of ordination, is brought forward, and Aaron and his sons place their hands upon it. Moses then applies some of its blood to Aaron’s right ear, right thumb, and right big toe, and does the same for his sons, marking hearing, service, and walk as consecrated to the LORD. The ritual is intimate, symbolic, and deeply charged with meaning.
