Leviticus 8 (vv. 1-5)

Moses gathers Aaron, his sons, the priestly garments, the anointing oil, the sacrificial animals, and the basket of unleavened bread at the entrance to the tent of meeting. The entire assembly of Israel stands as witnesses while Moses announces that what is about to happen has been commanded by the LORD. The scene establishes the public, covenantal, and solemn nature of the ordination.
