Leviticus 2 (vv. 1-3)

An Israelite worshiper brings a grain offering made from the finest flour, carefully poured over with olive oil and topped with fragrant incense. Before the bronze altar in the tabernacle courtyard, one of Aaron’s sons takes a handful as the memorial portion and burns it on the altar. The rising smoke and fragrance symbolize a pleasing offering to the LORD, while the remaining portion is set apart as most holy for the priests.
