Description
The ritual broadens into a perpetual ordinance for all generations. On the tenth day of the seventh month, the people are to deny themselves, cease from work, and receive cleansing before the LORD through the ministry of the anointed high priest. The scene captures the whole community in stillness around the tabernacle, united in repentance and hope as atonement is made once a year for all the sins of Israel.
