Leviticus 16 (vv. 11-17)

Having offered the bull for his own sin, Aaron enters behind the curtain carrying a censer of burning coals and finely ground incense. In the hidden chamber, the smoke rises and covers the atonement cover above the ark, shielding him in the presence of overwhelming holiness. He then sprinkles blood before and upon the atonement cover for himself and for the people, while no one else is allowed inside the tent of meeting.
