Description
In the final movement, hope in foreign rescue fails, pursuers overtake the people, and even the LORD’s anointed king is captured in a trap. Yet the chapter ends by turning toward the future: Daughter Edom, gloating over Zion’s fall, will also drink the cup of judgment, while Zion’s punishment will one day end. The scene combines defeat, pursuit, and a faint horizon of eventual justice.
