Lamentations 2 (vv. 6-9)

The sacred center of Jerusalem lies devastated. The LORD has laid waste his dwelling, rejected his altar, abandoned his sanctuary, and allowed enemy shouts to fill the house that once echoed with festival joy. Walls crumble, gates sink into the ground, and king, priest, prophet, and law all seem absent, leaving a spiritual vacuum as profound as the physical destruction.

예루살렘의 거룩한 중심이 처참히 무너져 있다. 여호와께서는 자신의 처소를 황폐하게 하시고, 제단을 버리시며, 성소를 떠나셨고, 한때 절기의 기쁨으로 울려 퍼지던 집 안에는 이제 원수들의 함성만 가득하다. 성벽은 무너지고 성문은 땅에 꺼졌으며, 왕과 제사장과 선지자와 율법의 자취가 사라져, 물리적 파괴만큼 깊은 영적 공허가 드러난다.
