As Midianites, Amalekites, and other eastern peoples gather in the Valley of Jezreel, the Spirit of the LORD comes upon Gideon. He blows a trumpet, and the Abiezrites rally behind him. Messengers go out through Manasseh, Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali, summoning warriors to join the coming struggle. The once-hesitant man now stands publicly as a leader, framed against the looming threat of a vast enemy host.
