Judges 3 (vv. 19-23)

Ehud returns alone from the stone images near Gilgal and tells Eglon that he has a secret message. In the upper room of the palace, the attendants leave, and the king rises to hear what he thinks is a divine word. This scene should capture the charged stillness just before the decisive act: the isolated chamber, the unsuspecting king, and Ehud poised in faith and danger. The violence should be suggested through posture and tension rather than graphic detail.
