Description
When the young Levite sees the sacred objects being taken, he protests, but the Danites silence him and offer him a more prestigious role: to become priest to an entire tribe rather than to one household. Pleased by the offer, he takes up the ephod, household gods, and idol and joins them. The Danites then set out with their children, livestock, and possessions placed ahead of them, moving as a migrating people under armed protection.
