Description
In the days when Israel was under Philistine domination, Manoah’s wife, long barren and sorrowful, receives an unexpected visitation. The angel of the LORD appears to her and announces that she will conceive and bear a son. He commands that she abstain from wine, fermented drink, and unclean food, because the child will be a Nazirite dedicated to God from the womb and will begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines.
