Joshua 9 (vv. 22-27)

Joshua confronts the Gibeonites for their deception, and they confess that fear for their lives drove them to act. Because of the oath, Joshua spares them but places them under a lasting burden: they will become woodcutters and water carriers for the assembly and for the house of God. The final scene transforms judgment into service, showing mercy, submission, and the enduring weight of covenant.
