Description
At dawn, the king of Ai sees Israel’s visible force and rushes out with his men to attack, unaware of the hidden ambush behind the city. Joshua and the Israelites deliberately retreat toward the wilderness, making it appear as though they are defeated again. The men of Ai pursue eagerly, leaving the city exposed and empty, exactly as Joshua intended.
