Description
In response to the disaster, Joshua tears his clothes and falls facedown before the ark of the LORD until evening. The elders of Israel join him, also in mourning, with dust on their heads. Joshua cries out in anguish, fearing that Israel will be destroyed and that the LORD’s great name will be dishonored among the nations. The scene is one of grief, confusion, and desperate prayer in the sacred presence of God.
