Description
The twelve representatives go before the ark into the middle of the Jordan, where the riverbed lies dry under divine intervention. Each man bends to lift a heavy stone onto his shoulder, obeying Joshua's command. The priests remain standing with the ark at the center, and the stones become symbols for future generations, so that children will ask what they mean and hear of the day the Jordan was cut off before the LORD.
