Description
News of the altar reaches the western tribes, and alarm spreads through Israel. The whole assembly gathers at Shiloh prepared for war, fearing that rebellion against the LORD will bring judgment on the entire nation as in the days of Peor and Achan. Phinehas the priest and ten tribal chiefs are sent as a delegation to confront the eastern tribes, carrying both righteous zeal and deep anxiety for the covenant community.
