Description
Joshua summons the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh and publicly praises them for their long faithfulness in helping their fellow Israelites secure the land. Standing as an aged leader before warriors ready to depart, he blesses them and exhorts them to love the LORD, obey his commands, and serve him with all their heart and soul. The men prepare to return eastward with livestock, precious metals, weapons, and garments, carrying both material wealth and Joshua’s solemn charge.
