Joshua 19 (vv. 49-51)

After the land has been distributed, Joshua son of Nun is finally given his own inheritance, Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. The scene shows the completion of the national task and the humility of the leader who receives his portion only after the others. Before the LORD at Shiloh, with Eleazar, clan heads, and the tent of meeting present, the work of allotment reaches its sacred conclusion. Joshua’s acceptance of the town conveys gratitude, faithfulness, and rest after long service.
