Joshua 10 (vv. 16-27)

After the battle, the five Amorite kings are discovered hiding in a cave at Makkedah. Joshua orders the cave sealed until the pursuit is complete, then has the kings brought out before the army. In a solemn act of victory and encouragement, Joshua tells Israel’s commanders to place their feet on the necks of the defeated kings, declaring that the LORD will do the same to all their enemies.

전투 후 다섯 아모리 왕은 막게다의 한 굴에 숨어 있다가 발견된다. 여호수아는 추격이 끝날 때까지 굴 입구를 큰 돌로 막게 하고, 이후 왕들을 군대 앞에 끌어내게 한다. 그리고 이스라엘 지휘관들에게 패배한 왕들의 목을 밟게 하며, 여호와께서 앞으로도 모든 원수들에게 이와 같이 하실 것이라고 담대히 선포한다.
