John 6 (vv. 11-15)

Jesus gives thanks over the loaves and fish and distributes them to the seated crowd until everyone has eaten as much as they desire. The disciples then gather the leftovers, filling twelve baskets, while amazement spreads through the people as they begin to proclaim Jesus as the Prophet. Yet beneath the wonder lies a dangerous political impulse, for the crowd is ready to seize him and make him king by force.

예수께서는 떡과 물고기를 들어 감사하신 뒤 앉아 있는 무리에게 나누어 주시고, 사람들은 모두 원하는 만큼 배불리 먹는다. 그 후 제자들은 남은 조각을 거두어 열두 광주리에 가득 채운다. 사람들 사이에는 예수께서 오시기로 한 그 선지자라는 경탄이 퍼지지만, 그 놀라움 아래에는 그분을 억지로 왕으로 세우려는 위험한 열망도 자리하고 있다.
