John 5 (vv. 9-13)

At once the man is healed. He rises, lifts the mat that had carried his weakness for decades, and begins to walk. But the joy of the miracle is immediately met with controversy as Jewish leaders object that it is the Sabbath and he should not be carrying his mat. The healed man points to the one who made him well, while Jesus has already slipped away into the crowd.

그 사람은 즉시 고침을 받아 일어나고, 수십 년 동안 자신의 연약함을 지탱하던 자리를 들고 걷기 시작한다. 그러나 이 기적의 기쁨은 곧 논쟁으로 바뀌는데, 유대 지도자들이 안식일에 자리를 들고 가는 것이 옳지 않다고 지적하기 때문이다. 고침 받은 사람은 자신을 낫게 한 분이 그렇게 말씀하셨다고 답하지만, 예수께서는 이미 무리 가운데로 사라지셨다.
