John 3 (vv. 22-36)

In the Judean countryside, people gather at abundant waters for baptism, while John the Baptist responds to his disciples’ concern with humility and joy. He declares that he is not the Messiah but the friend of the bridegroom, and that Jesus must become greater while he becomes less. The scene captures both transition and faithful surrender: John, still honored by many, willingly points away from himself toward the one sent from heaven.
