John 21 (vv. 15-22)

After breakfast Jesus speaks directly to Simon Peter, asking him three times whether he loves him. With each answer, Jesus entrusts him with the care of his flock: feed my lambs, tend my sheep, feed my sheep. He then foretells Peter's future suffering and calls him again to follow. As Peter notices the beloved disciple behind them and asks about him, Jesus redirects him to personal faithfulness. The scene carries restoration, commission, and the costly beauty of discipleship.

아침 식사 후 예수께서는 시몬 베드로에게 직접 세 번 '네가 나를 사랑하느냐'라고 물으신다. 베드로가 대답할 때마다 예수는 그에게 자신의 양 떼를 맡기신다. '내 어린 양을 먹이라, 내 양을 돌보라, 내 양을 먹이라.' 이어서 예수는 베드로의 장차 올 고난을 암시하시며 다시 한 번 그를 따르라고 부르신다. 베드로가 뒤따르는 사랑받던 제자를 보고 그에 대해 묻자, 예수는 그를 다시 개인적인 충성으로 이끄신다. 이 장면은 회복과 사명, 그리고 제자도의 값비싼 아름다움을 담고 있다.
