John 14 (vv. 1-4)

예수께서는 죽음을 앞둔 마지막 밤 다락방에서 제자들과 함께 앉아, 눈에 보일 만큼 불안해하는 그들에게 차분히 말씀하신다. 제자들은 근심과 혼란 속에 있지만, 예수께서는 평안한 모습으로 아버지의 집에 거할 곳이 많으며 그들을 위해 처소를 예비하러 가신다고 약속하신다. 이 장면은 이별의 두려움과 다시 와서 그들을 맞아 함께 있게 하시겠다는 위로의 약속이 함께 담긴 순간이다.
