Description
When Jesus arrives near Bethany, Martha goes out to meet him before he enters the village. In grief yet still believing, she tells him that Lazarus would not have died if he had been there. Jesus responds with one of the most profound declarations in the Gospel: he is the resurrection and the life, and Martha confesses him as the Messiah, the Son of God.
