Job 6 (vv. 14-20)

Job compares his friends to seasonal desert streams that overflow with meltwater for a time but disappear in the heat, leaving travelers disappointed. The scene should portray caravans turning aside in hope toward a watercourse, only to find dry ground. It visualizes betrayal through landscape: what once promised life has become emptiness.

욥은 친구들을 한때는 눈 녹은 물로 넘치지만 더위가 오면 사라져 버리는 계절성 시냇물에 비유한다. 이 장면은 물을 기대하며 길을 돌린 대상들이 결국 메마른 바닥만 발견하는 모습을 보여 주어야 한다. 생명을 약속하던 것이 공허함으로 바뀌는 풍경을 통해 배신의 감정을 시각화한다.
