Job 30 (vv. 16-20)

Job’s suffering turns inward and upward at once. His life ebbs away; the night pierces his bones, pain gnaws without rest, and he feels as though God has seized him like a garment and cast him into the mud until he becomes dust and ashes. He cries out, standing before heaven, yet receives no answer. The scene centers on Job alone in lament, suspended between physical agony and divine silence.
