Job 28 (vv. 5-11)

The earth that yields bread on its surface is transformed underneath as if by fire. Hidden below are lapis lazuli, gold dust, river sources, and secret treasures unseen by birds or beasts. Miners split flinty rock, expose the roots of mountains, and tunnel into the depths, bringing concealed riches into the light. The scene highlights the contrast between the ordinary world above and the mysterious wealth hidden below.

겉으로는 양식을 내는 땅이지만 그 아래는 불로 뒤집힌 듯 변화되어 있다. 그 깊은 곳에는 청금석과 금가루, 강의 근원과 새와 짐승도 보지 못한 비밀스러운 보물들이 숨겨져 있다. 광부들은 단단한 바위를 깨뜨리고 산의 뿌리를 드러내며 깊은 곳으로 터널을 뚫어 감추어진 것들을 빛 가운데로 끌어낸다. 이 장면은 지상의 평범한 세계와 지하에 감춰진 신비로운 부의 강렬한 대비를 보여 준다.
