Job 19 (vv. 1-6)

Job answers his companions with wounded dignity. He sits in humiliation while the men around him accuse and reproach him again and again, their words landing like blows. Though he insists that any error is his own concern, he feels trapped and overpowered, as if God himself has cast a net around him and his friends are using his misery to exalt themselves.

욥은 상처 입은 존엄함으로 친구들에게 대답한다. 그는 굴욕 가운데 앉아 있고, 주위의 사람들은 거듭 그를 비난하고 책망하며, 그들의 말은 마치 매질처럼 그에게 꽂힌다. 그는 설령 자신에게 잘못이 있다 해도 그것은 자신의 문제라고 말하지만, 하나님께서 친히 그를 그물로 에워싸신 것처럼 갇히고 짓눌린 느낌을 받으며, 친구들은 그의 비참함을 이용해 자신들을 높이고 있다.
