Jeremiah 9 (vv. 1-2)

Jeremiah stands overwhelmed with grief, longing for a head like a spring of water and eyes like a fountain of tears so he can mourn day and night for the slain of his people. At the same time, he yearns to flee to a lonely shelter in the desert, away from a nation corrupted by unfaithfulness. The scene combines personal sorrow with moral revulsion, showing both mourning and isolation.

예레미야는 자기 백성의 죽임당한 자들을 위하여 밤낮 울 수 있도록 머리가 물의 근원이 되고 눈이 눈물의 샘이 되기를 바랄 만큼 깊은 슬픔에 잠겨 서 있다. 동시에 그는 불성실과 배반으로 타락한 백성에게서 떠나 광야의 외딴 여인숙 같은 곳으로 도피하고 싶어 한다. 이 장면은 개인적 애통과 도덕적 혐오를 함께 담아, 슬픔과 고립을 동시에 보여 준다.
