Description
As the siege drags on, famine devastates Jerusalem until no food remains for the people. Under cover of darkness, the wall is breached and Zedekiah with his soldiers slips out through the gate near the king’s garden, trying to flee toward the Arabah. But the escape is desperate and doomed, with Babylonian forces already closing in and the king’s army beginning to scatter.
