Jeremiah 49 (vv. 7-22)

Messengers call nations to battle below, while those dwelling in the clefts of the rocks look down in terror as an eagle swoops over Bozrah. The scene captures the reversal of arrogant security: hidden places are exposed, wisdom fails, and the lofty nest is brought down. The atmosphere should suggest a cosmic shaking, as though the earth itself trembles under the LORD’s decree.
