Description
The final movement of judgment comes in vivid symbols: an eagle swoops over Moab, strongholds fall, warriors lose heart, and terror, pit, and snare trap those trying to escape. Fire goes out from Heshbon, and the sons and daughters of Moab are led away into exile. Yet at the far edge of the disaster, the passage closes with a faint note of hope, promising that Moab’s fortunes will one day be restored.
