Description
The prophet laments for Moab as vineyards, orchards, and winepresses fall silent. The fruitful vines of Sibmah are struck, the waters dry up, joyful harvest songs cease, and everywhere the signs of mourning appear: shaved heads, cut beards, slashed hands, sackcloth, and grieving crowds on rooftops and in public squares. The whole land becomes a vast funeral for a broken people.
