Jeremiah 48 (vv. 11-13)

Moab is compared to wine left undisturbed on its dregs, long settled in ease and unchanged in character. But the LORD declares that pourers will come to tip out the wine, empty the vessels, and smash the jars. The scene visualizes judgment through the metaphor itself: a complacent nation suddenly overturned and exposed.

모압은 오랫동안 찌꺼기 위에 가만히 놓여 있어 성질이 변하지 않은 포도주에 비유된다. 그러나 여호와께서는 붓는 자들이 와서 그 포도주를 쏟아 버리고 그릇을 비우며 항아리를 깨뜨릴 것이라고 선언하신다. 이 장면은 안일함에 젖어 있던 나라가 갑자기 뒤집히고 드러나는 심판을 비유적으로 보여 준다.
