Jeremiah 48 (vv. 7-10)

Moab’s confidence in wealth, achievements, and its god Chemosh is exposed as empty. The idol of Chemosh is carried away into exile along with priests and officials, while the land is marked for desolation and every town faces the destroyer. The image centers on the humiliation of false security: what Moab trusted most cannot save it.
