Jeremiah 43 (vv. 1-3)

Jeremiah stands before the gathered remnant of Judah after finishing the words of the LORD, speaking with solemn authority. Azariah, Johanan, and other arrogant men confront him publicly, pointing accusing fingers and declaring that he is lying. Baruch stands nearby, tense and vulnerable, as the crowd’s suspicion grows and the prophetic word is openly rejected.

예레미야는 여호와의 말씀을 모두 전한 뒤 유다의 남은 백성 앞에 엄숙한 권위로 서 있다. 아사랴와 요하난 그리고 다른 교만한 자들은 공개적으로 그를 대적하며 손가락질하고 그가 거짓말한다고 외친다. 바룩은 곁에서 긴장하고 위태로운 모습으로 서 있고, 무리의 의심은 점점 커지며 예언의 말씀이 노골적으로 거부된다.
