Jeremiah 4 (vv. 1-4)

The chapter opens with a compassionate yet urgent call to Israel and Judah to return to the LORD. The people are urged to cast away their detestable idols, to stop wandering, and to renew their covenant with truth, justice, and righteousness. Jeremiah uses vivid agricultural and covenant imagery: unplowed ground must be broken up, and hearts must be circumcised so that divine wrath does not blaze like unquenchable fire. The scene combines repentance, inner transformation, and looming judgment.
