Description
In a striking reversal, Babylonian officials obey the king’s command to protect Jeremiah and bring him safely out from confinement, entrusting him to Gedaliah to return among his people. At the same time, the word of the LORD comes with a promise for Ebed-Melek the Cushite: though disaster falls on the city, he will be delivered because he trusted in God.
