Description
After the first scroll is burned, the word of the LORD comes again to Jeremiah. He takes another scroll and once more dictates to Baruch, who writes down all the former words and additional judgments against Jehoiakim. The closing scene powerfully affirms that the king may destroy parchment, but he cannot silence the divine word. What was burned returns, fuller and stronger than before.

첫 번째 두루마리가 불태워진 뒤에도 여호와의 말씀이 다시 예레미야에게 임한다. 예레미야는 새 두루마리를 가져와 바룩에게 다시 받아쓰게 하고, 바룩은 이전의 모든 말씀과 더불어 여호야김에 대한 추가 심판의 말씀까지 기록한다. 이 마지막 장면은 왕이 양피지는 태울 수 있어도 하나님의 말씀은 침묵시킬 수 없음을 강렬하게 보여 준다. 불에 사라진 말씀은 이전보다 더 충만하고 강하게 다시 기록된다.
