Jeremiah 23 (vv. 9-15)

Here the prophet is overwhelmed by the holiness of God and the corruption of the nation. Jeremiah stands or kneels in visible anguish, his body unsteady as if overcome, while the land around him appears parched and morally ruined. In the distance, priests and prophets move through temple courts and city streets with hidden wickedness, and the countryside is dry and withered under the curse. The scene should express inner collapse, grief, and moral disgust rather than outward violence, showing a nation spiritually diseased from its leaders outward.
