Jeremiah 23 (vv. 1-2)

The opening scene shows the LORD’s accusation against the leaders of Judah, portrayed as shepherds who have failed their flock. Sheep are scattered across a barren landscape, some lost among rocks and thornbushes, while negligent shepherds stand apart, more concerned with themselves than with the animals entrusted to them. The sense is not of a peaceful pasture but of disorder, abandonment, and looming judgment, as divine justice is announced against those who harmed the people instead of caring for them.

첫 장면은 유다의 지도자들을 향한 여호와의 고발을 보여 주며, 그들은 양 떼를 돌보지 못한 목자로 묘사된다. 양들은 메마른 들판 곳곳에 흩어져 있고, 어떤 양들은 바위와 가시덤불 사이에서 길을 잃어버렸다. 한편 무책임한 목자들은 맡겨진 양들보다 자기 자신에게 더 관심이 있는 듯 떨어져 서 있다. 평화로운 초장이 아니라 혼란과 버려짐, 그리고 돌보아야 할 백성을 해친 자들에게 임할 하나님의 심판이 드리운 장면이다.
