Jeremiah 2 (vv. 6-8)

After being led out of Egypt and through the terrifying wilderness, Israel is brought into a fertile land filled with fruit and abundance. Yet the gift is corrupted: priests, rulers, and prophets neglect the LORD, and the land that should display covenant blessing is shown as spiritually polluted by idols and unfaithful leadership.

이스라엘은 애굽에서 인도함을 받고 두렵고 황량한 광야를 지나 열매와 풍요가 가득한 기름진 땅으로 들어왔다. 그러나 그 선물은 곧 더럽혀진다. 제사장들과 지도자들과 선지자들이 여호와를 외면하고, 언약의 복을 드러내야 할 땅은 우상과 불충한 지도력으로 인해 영적으로 오염된 모습으로 나타난다.
