James 2 (vv. 1-4)

In a gathering of early believers, two men enter at the same time: one richly dressed with a gold ring and elegant robes, the other poor and wearing worn, dirty clothing. The community immediately honors the wealthy man with a prominent seat while pushing the poor man aside to stand or sit on the floor. The scene captures the painful contrast between outward appearance and true spiritual value, exposing the injustice and inner corruption of judging by status.
