Isaiah 63 (vv. 15-19)

The chapter closes with a desperate prayer rising from affliction. The people look toward heaven, calling the Lord their Father and Redeemer, while lamenting that his zeal and compassion seem withheld. Their holy place has been trampled by enemies, and from the ruins they cry for him to return for the sake of his inheritance.
